It is a medium sized frog. The head is broad, and the snout is pointed. The Dorsal color is dark brown with two distinct dorsolateral fold extending from eye to the vent. The dorsolateral region is chocolate-white mosaiced. The ventral region is whitish. Thighs consist of black cross bars. Tympanum is distinct and about three-fourths diameter of the eye. There is a whitish continuous line present above the upper jaw. Fingers are free and the toes are partially webbed. The relative length of the fingers is 3>1>4>2.

It is a terrestrial and nocturnal species found in and around mixed and evergreen forests. It prefers to live in stagnant water with dense vegetation. The species feed on insects. The Call of the species is louder. Breeding took place during May to August.
